Daniel Levi, known in the Capoeira community as Professor Tubarão, began his journey with Capoeira in 2004 in Israel, training at the Academy of The Israeli Center for Capoeira under the esteemed training and guidance of Mestre Cueca. His Capoeira style is rooted in the Cordão De Ouro tradition of Mestre Suassuna from São Paulo, Brazil, a lineage known for its dynamic and creative approach to the art.

In 2009, Professor Tubarão achieved his certification as a Capoeira instructor through Tel-Aviv University, marking the start of his teaching career. Over the years, he has taught classes and led workshops, sharing Capoeira’s unique blend of martial arts, dance, and music with students from diverse backgrounds.

In 2009, Tubarão earned his certification as a Capoeira instructor through Tel-Aviv University, launching what became a lifelong commitment to teaching Capoeira to students worldwide. After years of traveling and participating in workshops, events, and festivals across Australia, Europe, and the U.S., he chose Tampa Bay as his new home. In 2018, he established The Florida Center for Capoeira, where he now offers classes for students of all ages and skill levels.

Through his teaching and outreach, Professor Tubarão is helping to bring the art, spirit, and community of Capoeira to the Tampa Bay area and beyond, inviting people from all backgrounds to experience this vibrant Brazilian tradition.

Today, Professor Tubarão offers classes for Kids, Teens, and Adults of all levels, creating an inclusive environment where students can learn, grow, and connect. Through workshops, performances, and demonstrations at festivals, fairs, and events across the U.S. and abroad, he is committed to raising public awareness of Capoeira and building a vibrant community united by this Brazilian art form.
